An amazing 3 bedroom family house with stunning views ... perfect for a holiday off the beaten track. It has a large well equipped kitchen / diner, with electric oven/hob as well as two large twin rooms and a downstairs kingsize bedroom which is accessible for wheelchairs. The sitting room has comfy armchairs, sofa and a woodburner plus TV and wifi. Short drive to restaurants of Bettyhill, Borgie and Tongue and a great location as a base to explore by car, motorbike, bicycle or foot.

The space
BEDS - The house price includes bedding for 6 people (2 in a king bed and 4 in twin beds). No more than 6 guests in total are allowed.

CHILDREN - This property is suitable for young children however there is no stair gate or guard for the woodburner. Please contact us if you do not believe this is an issue for your group. Please let us know if you require a travel cot.

FOOD & DRINK - There is usually a reasonable stock of consumables - tea, coffee, flour, soup, cleaning materials, polythene bags, aluminium foil, lavatory paper, etc....which we ask to be replaced if an item is finished. We do not provide breakfast however we send you the contact details for all the shops and restaurants in the area as soon as your booking is confirmed.

WOOD - We provide a basket of wood, matches and firelighters and even lay the fire in the woodburner...all you have to do it light it and keep it going!! More wood is available to buy as required at £1.80 per basket.

FACILITIES - There is a dishwasher and washing machine plus drying machine. There is also a TV and Wifi (high speed) as well as lots of books and games. Induction hob in the kitchen.

WIFI & MOBILES - WiFi is available in the property. Mobile reception is patchy (depending on your network provider).
There is a TV and a radio in the property.

There is wheelchair access all around the outside of the house and there are no steps on the ground floor (sitting room, kitchen, king size bedroom and bathroom). There is wheelchair access to the bathroom and the shower is over the bath with a bath board.
All the kitchen facilities are accessible from a wheelchair.

The property is pet friendly for a single well behaved dog. There is a securely fenced garden but please let us know if you are bringing a dog so we can do additional cleaning for the next guests. Dog mess bags are also available so please clean up after your dog in the garden area. Please do not let animals on any of the furniture or upstairs. We do not charge an additional cleaning fee for pets however we will charge if additional cleaning is required after your stay. Please make sure you keep your dog under control as the land around the house may have cattle and or sheep grazing year round.
Guest interaction
We operate a self check in and out system. You will be emailed / airbnb messaged your unique entry code the day before you are due to check in.

We will email directions to the property and instructions on using the key safe along with our contact phone and email details....please feel free to contact us with any questions or requests.

We are happy to arrange to meet guests if they are worried about using the self check in system.
Neighborhood overview
There is a book of local walks in the property along with an OS map.

Easy access to forest, cliff top and beach walks.

Approx 3 miles to the village of Skerray Post Office and less than 10miles either direction to Bettyhill or Tongue shop / post office / fuel / hotels (bar / restaurants).

Day trips to Orkney, John o' groats as well Durness are possible.
Getting around
Approx 1.5 miles to the NC500 route.

This is a great location for walking and cycling but is harder (but not impossible!) to access without a car of some kind having few scheduled buses.
