BEDS - We provide hotel quality Egyptian cotton bedding and towels for 2 guests in the double box bed. No additional guests are allowed.Guest access
CHILDREN - This property is not suitable for children. Please contact us if you do not believe this is an issue for your group.
FOOD & DRINK - We provide tea and coffee making materials including fresh milk and sugar. We do not provide breakfast.
WOOD - We provide wood, matches and firelighters and even lay the fire in the woodburner...all you have to do it light it and keep it going!!
WIFI & MOBILES - WiFi is not available in the property. Mobile reception is patchy (depending on your network provider). There is no TV or radio in the property.
ACCESSIBILITY - The property has steep steeps to the porch and therefore is not suited to anyone with mobility restrictions.
PETS - The property is pet friendly however there is no fenced garden. Please let us know if you are bringing animals so we can do additional cleaning for the next guests..
You will have access to the whole Shepherds Hut and can park your vehicle immediately next to it. There is no fenced garden around the Shepherds Hut.Additional notes
Vehicles can be parked immediately outside the Shepherds Hut so unpacking is easy! But please be aware that the Scottish weather can make the path and parking area muddy!
The Shepherds Hut is located at the end of a tarmac and grass pot holed track. Regular cars have no problem if driven slowly but the track is NOT suitable for very low profile cars / sports cars etc - please contact us in advance if you are concerned about access with your car and we will tell you where is best to park.
This is a very quiet and peaceful property on a remote road with very little traffic.Guest interaction
Well behaved dogs are very welcome - we even provide a treat tin for them!
Dog poop bags are also available so please clean up after your dog in the garden area. Please do not let animals on any of the furniture. We do not charge an additional cleaning fee for pets however we will charge if additional cleaning is required after your stay.
The weather can make the parking / driveway muddy.
Unfortunately the hut does not have disabled access but if you have any concern about access either for you or your vehicle then please ask.
We operate a self check in and out system and send you your unique access code just prior to arrival.Neighborhood overview

There is a book of local walks in the property along with an OS map. There is an old harbour to walk down to or a deserted village for those willing to walk a little further.Getting around
Easy access to forest, cliff top and beach walks.
5 miles to the village of Tongue and its shops / post office / fuel / hotels (bar / restaurants).
Day trips to Orkney, John o' groats as well Durness are possible.
1.5 miles to the NC500 route.
This is a great location for walking and cycling but is harder (but not impossible!) to access without a car of some kind having few scheduled buses.
